The 134,240-square-foot building now serves as a vital hub for protecting and maintaining Maryland’s public and cultural assets. Significant upgrades, including HVAC improvements, a new roof, backup power, and energy-efficient lighting, have strengthened the facility’s reliability and sustainability. These investments ensure the Archives can continue safeguarding Maryland’s history and providing long-term access to essential records for the public and state agencies.
