The Maryland Business Ready Sites Program (MBRSP) grows the state’s inventory of shovel-ready sites by funding site characterization and improvements and providing collaborative marketing support. Created by Governor Wes Moore in December 2024 and implemented by MEDCO with state, county, and municipal partners, it positions Maryland to attract investment from the leading industries of today and tomorrow.

Maryland Business Ready Sites Program
Site readiness is a direct pathway to economic competitiveness.
MBRSP offers three forms of support:
• Site Characterization Grants — up to $10,000 in in-kind services to assess a site’s readiness and assign a “Ready Score.”
• Site Improvement Grants — funding for infrastructure, remediation, and site development; 3:1 or higher match expected.
• Collaborative Marketing Support — dashboard publication, site reports, and ongoing access to MEDCO’s services for grantees.
Eligible sites are pre-development greenfields, brownfields, or redevelopment sites containing at least 5 acres intended for industrial or commercial use. Public and private entities with ownership or development rights may apply. See the Program Guidelines for full eligibility details.
